Windows 10 21H2 Build is Released to Insider Channel

Microsoft released the Windows 10 21H2 build only to the insider channel called the Release Preview Channel. As per Microsoft, this is released to Insiders if their PC does not meet the requirements for Windows 11. It’s already confirmed that the Windows 10 21H2 update will be via an enablement package.

There are three insider channels; the release preview channel is the third. Windows updates are first released to the Dev channel and then to the Beta channel. The third insider ring is called the Release Preview Channel.

Windows 10 21H2 is released only for update seekers, who are users who manually check for updates from the settings application.

The latest build version of Windows 10 21H2 (Insider) is 10.0.19044.1149. These details are coming from WZorNET on Twitter.

How to Get Windows 10 21H1 Build

Let’s ensure your device is joined to the Windows Insider program and that you are part of it. We have explained the Windows 11 Insider Program Registration Process and ensured you join the release preview channel. You can confirm whether your device is part of an insider program using the following method:

  • Open the Settings application from the start menu.
  • Click on Updates and Security.
  • Click on the Window Insider Program tab.

As mentioned above, click the Windows Updates tab and click the check for updates button to become a seeker. This manual update-seeking action puts your device into the early rings of update release within the release preview channel.

  • Click on the 2021-07 cumulative update preview for Windows 10 21H2 for x64-based systems (KB5004296) update to start the installation.
  • After the installation of KB5004296, the build version of Windows 10 21H2 is changed to 10.0.19044.1149.

We also noticed that the 2021-07 cumulative update preview for Windows 10 21H1 for x64-based systems (KB5004296) update is released to Windows 10 21H1 devices.
