ConfigMgr has added more complexity for admins like me, who are not SQL savvy. Even though the post is for 2012, it’s applicable for Configuration Manager (a.k.a SCCM) current branch versions.

He explains SQL replication in detail in this post (like his CM07 posts). This will be a helpful guide if you want to troubleshoot SQL replication.
