Get Ready for SCCM ConfigMgr Intune New Features. Microsoft has announced the latest versions of ConfigMgr 2012 and Intune during TechEd North America 2013.

ConfigMgr 2012 R2 is the newest version of System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1.

Reduced Infra Requirements

  • Obsolete Reason for having a Primary Site – Untrusted Forests (new in R2)
  • Ability to reassign clients between ConfigMgr Sites with a hierarchy
  • Support of restoring SQL Database to a different server during recovery

Content Management and RBA   

  • A new report shows how much a particular DP is used
  • Content replication made less chatty over the WAN
  • Pull DP enhanced for scale and monitoring
  • RBA support for reporting

OSD (OS Deployment)       

  • Enable Pre-stage Content File 
  • Bulk USB media Creation from ISO
  • App install Status in Task Sequence
  • Integrate key MDT ZTI tasks to native ConfigMgr OS deployment

Mobile Device Management

  • Native IOS app for Self-service portal for ConfigMgr + Intune
  • Android Agent and Self-Service Portal  ConfigMgr + Intune
