Microsoft Confirms April 2026 Update Causes LSASS Crashes and Domain Controller Reboot Loops! Microsoft has reported a serious issue with its April 2026 security update (KB5082063) affecting Windows domain controllers. The update can cause the LSASS service to crash, which makes some servers restart again and again. This problem mainly affects certain domain controllers in systems that use Privileged Access Management (PAM), especially if the server starts handling login requests too early during startup.

Microsoft Confirms April 2026 Update Causes LSASS Crashes and Domain Controller Reboot Loops

If this issue happens, the affected servers may fail to log users in or manage access properly, because they can’t handle authentication or directory services. This can cause major outages, where the entire network (domain) becomes unavailable for users.

The problem affects business servers that organizations use to manage users and systems. However, regular personal computers or unmanaged devices are not affected, so most individual users don’t need to worry.

Microsoft Works on Fix as Domain Controller Issues

Microsoft said it is actively working on a fix for the issue, but has not shared when it will be resolved. In the meantime, IT administrators are advised to contact Microsoft Support for Business to get temporary solutions, even if the update has already been installed.
