ConfigMgr SCCM Content Prestaging Options Endpoint Manager. I want to share Jason Sandys’s blog post about Content Pre-staging in ConfigMgr with Adaptiva OneSite.

This post explains (a) what content is in ConfigMgr, (b) what content pre-staging is, and (c) what the advantages of pre-staging content are. Read the full post.

More details about the ConfigMgr (out of the box) prestaging option in CM 2012 are here. Following are the extracts from that blog post.

This post provides details on all the ConfigMgr SCCM Content Prestaging Options. The section below explains more details.

What is content in ConfigMgr? Content in ConfigMgr is always in the form of a package defined by a designated set of source files; once you deploy OneSite, these source files are made available to the clients using distribution points in ConfigMgr or peer systems.

What is content pre-staging? It is the process of distributing content to each system that requires the content before the system requires the content.

This ensures that the content is available when the local system kicks off an action that needs the content instead of having to download it on demand. ConfigMgr SCCM Content Prestaging Options Endpoint Manager.

What are the advantages of pre-staging content? Content pre-staging in OneSite is provided by a Content Push Policy that combines the following items and parameters.
