Intune SCCM Certification Learning Exams
Previously, the certification paths were based on each Microsoft product, such as ConfigMgr, System Center, etc. With the new changes, the path has evolved to the next level. I like how Microsoft revamped it based on job roles instead of unique technology.
NOTE! The certification is not based on Microsoft products (such as SCCM, Intune, etc.) but on Technical roles. Some examples of technical roles are given below. An update on Intune Certification and Exam MD-102: Endpoint Administrator details are below.
Job role-based certification makes more sense in the cloud and ever-changing technology world. Technologies will evolve further and migrate to modern cloud-native solutions, but the job role will remain the same for most IT professionals.

Microsoft revamped the learning path for IT Pros/System admins. Three (3) types of Microsoft certifications are available in the Microsoft learning path.

Learning Path for Endpoint Manager & AVD
All Microsoft 365 products, including Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM & Intune) and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), fall under the umbrella. Hence, if you want certification in any technology like SCCM/Intune/WVD, you must start learning the Microsoft 365 learning path.

New Latest Intune SCCM Certification and Exam MD-102: Endpoint Administrator
Microsoft released the latest Intune certification and Exam details for the endpoint administrator job role. This covers mainly device management technologies such as Intune and SCCM. The Inutne Certification and Exam MD-102: Endpoint Administrator! Thanks to Andy for the tip.
NOTE! As per Microsoft, this exam will be available in May 2023. It measures your ability to accomplish the following technical tasks: deploy Windows client, manage identity and compliance, manage, maintain, and protect devices, and manage applications.
The following are the main segregation of expert areas New Intune Certification and Exam MD-102 is looking for:
- Manage, maintain, and protect devices (40–45%)
- Manage applications (10–15%)
- Deploy Windows client (25–30%)
- Manage identity and compliance (15–20%)

Let’s check out some additional tips for Microsoft learning and clearing exams. Microsoft changed the certification path or exam path. The exams related to technologies such as Intune, SCCM, SCOM, OpsMgr, and Azure are changed to profile-based. The Microsoft Certification path was changed for SCOM, Azure, SCCM, Intune, etc.
Expert Certification
The certification has prerequisites and Exam Requirements.
Intune Exam MD-102 Profile
Candidates for this exam have subject matter expertise in deploying, configuring, protecting, managing,
and monitoring devices and client applications in a Microsoft 365 environment. They manage identity,
security, access, policies, updates, and apps for endpoints.
They implement efficient endpoint deployment and management solutions on various operating systems, platforms, and device types. They implement and manage endpoints at scale using Microsoft Intune, Windows 365, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), part of Microsoft Entra.
Endpoint administrators collaborate with architects, Microsoft 365 administrators, security
administrators and other workload administrators to plan and implement a modern workplace strategy
that meets the business needs of an organization.
Candidates for this exam must have experience with Azure AD and Microsoft 365 technologies, including Intune. They must also have strong skills and expertise in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows client and non-Windows devices.
Exam MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator
Candidates for this exam are Microsoft 365 administrators who deploy and manage Microsoft 365. They also implement and administer cloud and hybrid environments at the tenant level.
NOTE: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert certification to Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert. Here, too, we’re consolidating two exams into one.
Microsoft 365 administrators function as the integrating hub for all Microsoft 365 workloads. They coordinate across multiple Microsoft 365 workloads. They work with architects and other administrators responsible for workloads, infrastructure, identity, security, compliance, endpoints, and applications.
Candidates for this exam have functional experience with all Microsoft 365 workloads and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), part of Microsoft Entra, and have administered at least one. They also have a working knowledge of networking, server administration, DNS, and PowerShell.
- Deploy and manage a Microsoft 365 tenant (25–30%)
- Implement and manage identity and access in Azure AD (25–30%)
- Manage security and threats by using Microsoft 365 Defender (25–30%)
- Manage compliance by using Microsoft Purview (15–20%)

So, if i do understand it correcly from May 2023 i only need to do 1 exam to have the certification (MS-102) instead of 2 (100 + 101)? Atm i have 697 + 698 for the MCSA Windows 10 certification. Looks like i better wait for 102 and skip 100 + 101, more efficiënt. Right?
