Today we are discussing Troubleshooting Locate Device Greyed Out for Corporate Android Devices in Intune. As you all know that Locate device is the one of the important features that are used in Microsoft Intune, and it is there to help the admins to find a location of a Corporate managed Android devices.

This feature is very crucial for admins to find the locations easily. This feature only works for when a device is enrolled for a Corporate owned or fully managed. The admins can use the locate device feature to find out the device on the Map.

Recently some users having an issue with this Locate device feature. Some of them reported that Locate Device Greyed Out for Corporate Android Devices in Intune. This greyed out issue is very common for IT admins. with this feature the admins can find out the Missing devices very easily.

Reson for the Issue and Workaround

There are many reasons a feature is greyed out. Above we see a screenshot in that screenshot the location device is greyed out after the first request made by the admin. The main reason why this feature is greyed out is may be the admins turned off the locations that’s why this error happens. Let’s look the reasons and fixes for this issue below.

  • The another reason is the device may be on to the Offline mode. You have to enable that first.
  • If the device is not Corporate owned or Fully managed android devices. You have to understand that this feature only works on Corporate owned or Fully managed android devices.
  • Company portal app permissions is required. The devices give the permissions to access the device’s locations any time.
    • You can Try refreshing options sometimes.
    • You can also check the network connections are stable or not.
    • Also you can check if any policies blocking the GPS.
