Microsoft Almost Announced the Next Generation of Windows at the Build 2021 conference. Why am I saying almost announced? Well, it’s not announced; rather, it was a tease. This is because the name of the next-generation Windows has not yet been announced.

Microsoft CEO Satya mentioned that over 1.3 billion people use Windows 10 to work, learn, and play. What do you think is the name of the next generation of Windows 10? Let me know in the comments section. Can it be Windows 11, Windows 12, or something else?

You can watch Satya’s video announcement about the next generation of Windows. I’m excited to see and learn more about it. Some rumors are that Microsoft is working on the newest version of Windows, code-named “Sun Valley.”

Microsoft Almost Announced the Next Generation of Windows

Let’s break down what Satya mentioned in the keynote!

Patch My PC

Satya – “Soon, we will share one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade to unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators.”

I think he is hinting about the New Microsoft App Store | Upload Raw EXE MSI Applications.

Satya – “I’ve been self-hosting it over the past several months, and I’m incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows.”

This is all about the newest version of Windows—the next generation of Windows. The next generation of Windows is not Windows 10X. You can read more about this in the following article by Mary Jo Foley. Microsoft drops Windows 10X before it ever launched.

Satya: “Our promise to you is this: we will create more opportunities for every Windows developer today and welcome every creator who is looking for the most innovative, new, open platform to build, distribute, and monetize applications.”

This statement is again related to the new Microsoft app store monetization options for Windows MSI/EXE apps and modern apps.
