As mentioned above, many users are raising concerns about Outlook’s Gone-down Bug Blocking Email Logins, which Causes App Crashes. Microsoft Outlook clarifies that this issue happens because of the high memory usage of the New Outlook desktop app.

• A user posted a screenshot on Outlook’s official social media page(X platform) expressing concern about memory usage.
• Outlook consumes around 19GB of RAM and 10% of CPU, which is very high for an Outlook application.
• Compared to other processes, it consumes less memory usage than Outlook

Outlook confirms that Microsoft identified this problem through service telemetry. They also analyze data from affected customers and reproduce the issue internally to develop a mitigation plan. They also confirm that the users must restart or refresh the Outlook app, which resolves the problem.

Note: According to the report, this issue has not been resolved for many users.

Workaround

We have some workaround suggestions for solving the issue. Maybe this will be helpful to you. According to Microsoft, the bug caused high system resource usage, slowing down the overall performance of the desktop Outlook.

May refresh or Restart may resolve the issue and again Log into your Email.

FIX

As per Microsoft, this issue was fixed on October 11, 2024. We have not heard back about any issues related to these topics after Microsoft confirmed the fix.
