How can the SCOM OpsMgr eMail Alert Storm be reduced? I don’t prefer to install and enable the SCCM management pack on the SCOM servers because of the fear of email alerts.

SCOM is expected to generate hundreds of emails, most of which are informational. Is there any way to reduce SCOM email alerts/notification storms?

Savision’s Live Maps Unity will help us notify only when necessary and provide a URL to the root cause details in the notification. Isn’t it cool?

Dennis Rietvink published an article explaining how to configure SCOM alert notifications to include a URL to the Live Maps Unity service map in an email.
