Hi, I will talk about Windows 10 Product Key Change Home to Professional Upgrade | Activate today. This quick guide will show you how to upgrade Windows 10 Home to a professional edition without formatting or reinstalling the System.

You can use the Windows 10 Product Key change option to upgrade from Home to Professional Edition. A product key is like a 25-character code you use to activate Windows. It checks that you’re not using Windows on more PCs than Microsoft allows.

You can’t use product keys from older versions for the Pro upgrade anymore. However, you can use a Windows 10 Pro key with Windows 11 and vice versa.

Windows 10 Pro includes all the stuff you get in Windows 10 Home and some extra features like Domain Join, Group Policy Management, BitLocker, Enterprise Mode Internet Explorer (EMIE), Assigned Access 8.1, Remote Desktop, Client Hyper-V, and Direct Access.

Windows 10 Computer Specifications

Let’s get the Windows 10 edition details from Windows 10 specifications.

  1. Click on the Start Menu
  2. Click on “Settings” ICON to display the settings options
  3. Click on the Settings option

Click on System from the Windows 10 Settings application.

Click on the About option from the System and Scroll down.

  • At the bottom of the About page – the Windows Specifications heading on the right side
  • Edition – Windows 10 Home

You can check the Windows 10 edition from Control Panel –> System and Security –> System.

Activate Windows 10

Before changing the Windows 10 Product Key from Home to Professional, you must ensure you have activated the Windows 10 Home version.

  • You can check whether your Windows 10 Home edition is activated from the link: ms-settings:activation?activationSource=anoopcnair.com.
  • Click on Activate Windows, as you can see in the below screenshot.

Let’s confirm that you have activated the Windows 10 edition. After successfully activating the Windows 10 Home edition, you should see the following messages: More details about activation.

  • Windows is activated
  • Windows is activated with a digital license.
  • Windows is activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account

Now, let’s upgrade the Windows 10 home to professional.

  1. Click on the Start Menu
  2. Click on “Settings” ICON to display the settings options.
  3. Click on the Settings option.

Click on Update & Security.

Click Activation, Scroll down to Update product key,

  • Click on the hyperlink Change Product Key.

  • Click on the Next button to continue.
