Today we are discussing Microsoft Named a Leader in Identity and Access Management in MS Entra Gartner Report Highlights. As you all know about the Gartner report, recently Microsoft was selected as a leader for the past few years and now it’s been 8 years, Microsoft has been named a Leader in the Gartner report for access management.

As you all know that recent Microsoft select as leader in Enterprise low code application and also in SIEM categories. Now it’s the time for the Access management in the Entra. You know why Microsoft is a leader because of its variety of access management tools called Microsoft Entra.

Also, these tools provide strong security, simplify user access, and meet your requirements. In the recent Gartner report reveals that 600 million identity attacks happen per day. Over 99% of identity attacks are caused by weak passwords, reuse, and phishing. So we need a strong identity and access management in every organization’s defense.

Capabilities of Vendor- Microsoft

Gartner defines access management as tools that handle authentication and single sign-on (SSO) and manage access controls for modern and traditional web applications and APIs Microsoft provides Microsoft Entra ID for workforce identity management along with two CIAM solutions such as, Microsoft Entra External ID and Microsoft Azure AD B2C, all available as SaaS.

Recently, Microsoft enhanced its CIAM offerings by introducing centralized management, increasing support for open standards, and planning future features like device-bound passkeys, Copilot for Security, and real-time Face Check for CIAM users.

Expanded Features for Access Management Info
passkeys Entra supports device-bound passkeys stored on FIDO2 security keys and in Microsoft Authenticator.These passkeys allow workers to log in without a username or password, making it more secure and efficient.
Microsoft security copilot This tool is in public preview and helps identify and resolve identity risks using AI. It can quickly complete complex tasks, find gaps in access policies, and improve overall efficiency.
Decentralized identity.It sllows individuals manage their own digital identities securely and privately. The Face Check feature uses facial recognition to verify identities with Azure AI services.
